You know what fascinates me? Life under the sea. In my next life, I definitely want to be a mermaid, with long hair, a pink fin and a glitter bra. And seashells. Lot’s of seashells in my hair, as jewelery and more. I want to swim and talk to fish and yes, I imagine it to be like in The Little Mermaid. A girl can dream, right? I wouldn’t mind being Ocean Girl, either. Remember her? Such a good show.

Honestly, I would have loved to study marine biology but there were two problems. First of all, biology was definitely not my strong subject in school and I would’ve never gotten admitted at university. Secondly, I’m a little afraid of the ocean which makes it pretty difficult, I guess. However, I did overcome my fear a little when I went snorkeling in Hawaii. Honestly, when everyone shouted “Wild Dolphins” I just didn’t care because I would have beaten myself up if I hadn’t seen them. After they were gone though, I did feel a little uneasy because you could only see blue and you never know what creature shows up by surprise. Like sharks. Man, I’m so afraid of sharks. I would be interested in going cage diving with sharks, though. But seeing wild dolphins was an incredible feeling.

I’ve also swam with some at Sixflags which was simply amazing. Dolphins are such kind and smart animals. I will never forget it. Also, I’ve touched sea stars, baby sharks and ray’s, which are my favorite. Don’t their cute little faces just cheer you up? They look like Pokémons. I always try to get a selfie with them. And coral reefs are just super pretty. Maybe, someday, I’ll go scuba diving but I’m probably going to be scared, as hell.

Today, I share photographs with you that I’ve taken at a lot of different places where one can admire the beautiful under water world. I love to visit aquariums. You’ll see pictures from Hawaii, Cologne Zoo, The New England Aquarium in Boston, The Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Sea World, The Aquarium By the Bay in San Francisco, The California Academy of Science and Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Omg wow!! Those pictures are incredibly beautiful, I love them so much! The ocean really fascinates me too & the beach has always been my happy place. I’m in a marine biology class atm & we’re going to Croatia to go snorkling in October which I’m so excited about but at the same time a bit scared too because I’ve never done it before. Swimming with dolphins must have been such an amazing experience, definitely on my bucket list :) x
