I’ve always been a huge lover of books because I think it’s just wonderful to dive into other people’s worlds. I can’t borrow books from other people cause I want to have them all on my shelves and my little library is constantly growing. I found this tag on the Underland To Wonderland blog, go and visit. I hope you like it and maybe, you’ll even answer these questions, yourself. I’d love to know what Tea Is For Tina, Franzizzy, about Little Things, Teatime with Naomi and Twenty Something Meltdown have to say.
01. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Usually, I read in bed but I can definitely read anywhere. I have a reading chair that I should probably use more often but it’s usually covered with random stuff and I’m practically married to my bed anyway, so that’s where I definitely read the most.
02. Where do you like to read?
Preferably in bed but I can read anywhere. On a plane, on a bus, library, kitchen, at the gym, you name it.
03. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
It’s different, everytime. That reminds me, I really have to look for all of my pretty bookmarks. They must be in some books I’ve started but not finished or I lost them or I just don’t have a clue where they are. I often use a random piece of paper though or a photo, whatever is just lying around.
04. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop at a chapter?
If it’s not really necessary to stop reading for whatever reason, I always read in chapters. It’s a little goal reaching thing.
05. Do you eat or drink whilst reading?
Sure, why not?! I always have a bottle of water next to me anyway and I love reading something while eating.
06. E-reader or real book?
Always real books. I promised myself to never ever get an e-reader. I know it’s great for travelling etc. but I need to have an actual book in my hand, I want to have every book I read on my shelf and yes, I also sniff them.
07. Music or TV while reading?
Usually, I read in silence but I can also read with music or TV on.
08. One book at a time or several at once?
Usually one book at a time. When I was still in school or university, I read several because I had different ones for different classes, private ones and so on. I also stop reading when I get bored of a book and start another and eventually I get back to the other one.
09. Reading at home or everywhere?
As mentioned above, everywhere. Currently, I mostly read at home but I usually have a book in my bag when I sleep somewhere else, visit someone, have a doctor’s appointment, travel somewhere etc.
10. Reading aloud or silently in your head?
Silently! I find it harder to concentrate when reading out loud and personally, I feel stupid when there is nobody I’m actually reading to.
11. Fiction or non-fiction?
Both! I love getting sucked in by wonderful fiction stories but I also find it interesting to read about things that really happened.
12. Do you read ahead or skip pages?
I may have done this with books for uni or school but usually, I read every single word.
13. Break the spine or keep a book like new?
You can definitely tell when I read through a paper back edition but my hardcovers usually end up looking not so bad.
14. Do you write in your books?
Sometimes I underline things, especially quotes that I want to remember and I definitely wrote into my school and uni books. That way, it’s easier when you really have to work your way through it for a report or a paper. I definitely emboss my books with my name and all. I love that thing and I think it’s great for someone who wants to build up their own library.
15. Your favourite book?
My favorite book is a German one named Mondscheintarif by Ildikó von Kürthy. Her books in general are awesome. Of course, I’m also a huge fan of Harry Potter and I definitely enjoyed reading The Hunger Games. Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy totally got me hooked, as well, and just a lot of different ones. Gone Girl, The Year of Yes, Bridget Jones, Nicholas Sparks books, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and so many more. I don’t know how many hundred books I have so it’s a little hard to choose. I also love reading books for teenagers, once in a while. The Clique or The It Girl series totally gave me life.
