“Bow down, bitches!” Mrs. Carter World Tour 2014 – Beyoncé live @ Cologne

Ok, now I finally have a few minutes to write something about the amazing concert I went to on Saturday. (and a few hours to upload all these pictures and videos) I got to see the incredible Beyoncé live on stage and let me just tell you that there is a reason why she is called the QUEEN. That is the only appropriate title for her. And when she tells you to “BOW DOWN, Bitches” you should just do it. She is one of the most beautiful human beings on this earth, she has the body of a goddess, she can sing like an angel and boy, she can move. If you ever have the chance to attend one of her concerts, just go for it. I promise that you won’t be disappointed!

I have to admit that I was a little afraid that she wouldn’t live up to my expectations. I’m still not a huge fan of her album because I think that she can do so much better. She hardly sings and I miss her incredible voice on her new record. However though, I respect her for doing something different and just experimenting because she feels like it. That is a brave thing to do in an industry, where people are always criticised and where a certain sound is expected of them. Well, she can release an album without any notice and she can talk more than sing on that record and still get away with it because she is Beyoncé. And even if I wouldn’t have enjoyed her singing, I would’ve just looked at her. I bet every person in the world is jealous of Jay-Z. He is one hell of a lucky guy! And aside from being so incredibly talented, she seems like a really nice and friendly person. I know you can never tell for sure until you personally get to know someone, but I just want to believe that she has a big heart and is not too much of a diva. She came on stage and performed like her life depended on it. And that is what I want to see when I buy an expensive ticket. I want to be entertained and blown away and she did all of it.

So, where to start. I went there with my mom, my brother and his girlfriend, who is the biggest Beyoncé fan and had pit-tickets for two nights in a row. The rest of us had seats, although we didn’t spend much time sitting, since Queen Bey got us all dancing. I got myself a t-shirt and this awesome blinking bow-headband. A lot of fans got these which looked pretty cool in the arena. I just always have to buy something that reminds me of a great night and it was really great. Unfortunately, you couldn’t get a shirt that had “SURFBOARD” on it, but ok. I bought the original tour shirt, instead. Furthermore, a little family fun is always a good idea so this made the night great, as well. We laughed a lot and enjoyed the show. Anyway,  her support act was a really cool DJ  from Paris named Monsieur Adi, who entertained the crowd for half an hour. And let me just say that I love every DJ who plays ‘Hypnotize’. So does my brother and we were praising him for that. Overall, Monsieur Adi played a cool mix of songs that really get a crowd going. Songs like ‘Talk Dirty’, ‘Ni**as in Paris’, ‘Work Bitch’ and ‘Grown Woman’ got us all moving and dancing.

After that, we had to wait for Bey to enter the stage which took a little while but nobody was mad at her when she started. (I remember another concert were people weren’t so forgiving. It wasn’t Bey, though.) And BOOM, she was there and got the party started. I guess ‘Run The World (Girls)’ is always a good idea to start with.  Gladly, she performed many of her really famous hits like ‘Baby Boy’, ‘Naughty Girl’,  or ‘Single Ladies’, and also the good ones (in my opinion) from her new album like ‘Drunk in love’ and ‘XO’. Until she performed on her chair like she did at the Grammy’s, I had a little hope that Jay-Z would surprisingly enter the stage like he did in London. Unfortunately, Cologne didn’t get that lucky but I guess we will survive. Furthermore, she had a lot of outfit changes. She looked amazing in her sparkly, skin-tight clothes and she totally owned the stage, every second of the show. I always wonder how everyone manages to change as fast as they do during concerts. And I am so glad that she went back to her long hair. The most touching moment was when she came out singing ‘I will always love you’. I remember trying not to cry because it was so touching and she sang it beautifully. The song faded into her song ‘Heaven’ and those two in combination created a very emotional atmosphere. I am glad that I was there to listen to something so beautiful. And I just have to say that I find it very fascinating how she manages to always appears classy and aesthetic, even though she knows how to grind on poles, chairs, dancers, surfboards. ;) We know what she is telling us in that song. But still, I don’t see her as a bad or raunchy girl. She’s a grown woman who just flaunts her sexiness, but always remains classy.

I have to say, that her choice of dancers added a lot to the show, as well. They were all incredible. Sometimes, I didn’t even know were to look first. All those talented hot ladies and I better not get started about Les Twins. Those two sexy dancers from France are just fabulous and she should keep them, forever. And I bet they have a great time with being the only men on stage. All of the other background dancers, background singers and members of the band are all women. I can just say it again: Who run the world? GIRLS! And I love how she praises that. We are strong women and we can be whatever and whoever we want to be. Oh, and we are FLAWLESS at any time of the day. But some twin-eye candy is never a bad idea, right? ;)

I tried to take a lot of pictures but even though, we sat pretty close to the stage, it is not so easy to get perfect pictures with a regular digital camera. So don’t be mad if not all of the pictures are perfect. But I think overall, they can show you how amazing the show was and if not, use google.  BTW, at the end of this post, you can count all the positives adjectives I used. Let me know how many you found. I’m just still blown away. I danced a lot and had a ton of fun. Therefore, excuse the bouncing videos. It was just not possible to keep perfectly still.  This show just had everything a good show needs. Stripper-poles, fire, glitter, cool dance moves, hot and talented dancers and an artist, who has it all.

So, there is really not much left to say. I can only repeat myself by saying how amazing this concert was and that you should definitely go to a Beyoncé concert, at least once in your life.

Nice review. She is indeed a Queen. Worth every cent. I have all her live DVDs, we should watch it at my parents with the entire sound system on, bammMMMM! ;)
