The ‘Alice 1951’ Tag

Alice in WonderlandIt’s time for another tag post, which I definitely love doing. I was tagged by Danielle from Underland to Wonderland to do The ‘Alice 1951’ Tag, which she created herself, and it’s all about the animated Disney classic. This gave me a perfect reason to re-watch the movie and here are my answers.

1. Who in Wonderland would you choose to be your best friend?
I guess the Mad Hatter because most of the other characters within the movie seem to be pretty rude. He’s crazy, I like people who are, and I really wouldn’t mind celebrating my un-birthday 364 days of the year. I mean a party with tea and presents, everyday? Hell yeah, count me in.

2. Would you rather be humongous or teeny tiny?
I’d rather be teeny tiny because that way, even though it’s more dangerous, I have more opportunities. As you can see within the movie, Alice doesn’t get very far while being a giant because she is just too tall, but she can move around when she’s short. And since I’m a tall person, I’d like to know how it’s like not to always overlook everyone.

Alice in Wonderland

3. What would your personal Wonderland look like?
It would definitely include lots and lots of pink and glitter and I wouldn’t mind rainbows and unicorns. I can be such a girly girl. I would totally love talking animals and singing flowers. Oh, and mermaids, of course.

4. If you could take one possession with you to Wonderland, what would you take?
Duh, of course a camera. I mean, imagine blogging about a fabulous place like that. And who would believe me, otherwise?! I always need to take lots of pictures of places I visit so I would definitely not go without my camera.

Alice in Wonderland

5. Similarly, if you could take someone with you to explore, who would you take?
I would always choose my best friend. We’ve known each other forever and I know that we would have a blast, together. And we could definitely use another adventure. Adulthood has made us too boring. Furthermore, I’m pretty sure we would get along just fine, no matter how long it would take for us to get back home.

6. Would you most enjoy: Sailing in a glass bottle or falling down the rabbit hole?
Definitely falling down the rabbit hole. I think it’s a fascinating place and it would feel like flying. And I mean come on, it has food and drinks.

Alice in Wonderland

7. Minus the Red Queen, who would you least like to bump into?
I actually find most of the characters quite rude. The cat is a total creep, the caterpillar is super annoying and those singing flowers are terribly mean. I’d actually prefer bumping into the queen because she is hilarious. I mean come on, she wears panties with red hearts aaaall over it.

8. In the garden, which type of flower do you think you would be?
Probably a rose because if you don’t treat me right, my thorns will make you sorry. They smell absolutely lovely and I adore them. Furthermore, they also come in pink so yeah, that’s totally me.

Alice in Wonderland

9. Which of these locations would you like to call home: The Dormouse’s Teapot, The Cheshire Cat’s tree, The Red Queen’s Castle, The Caterpillar’s Mushroom.
Oh boy, this is a tough one because I would actually love the house that the white rabbit lives in. The place is adorable. In general, I wouldn’t mind living in a castle but I think I’ll choose the Dormouse’s Teapot because she is in the middle of crazy tea parties, on a daily basis.

10. What would you do if you had to stay in Wonderland for 5 years at a time or could never visit again?
In my personal wonderland, I would definitely stay for five years because I would love to come back when I feel like being in a very positive place. I’m not so sure about the wonderland Alice stumbles into, since it doesn’t seem like a very nice place. But I’ll say that I would stay for five years because I like adventures and I’m not afraid to take a challenge. I’m sure that somewhere in wonderland, I would find lovely creatures and exploring is always a fun thing to do.

Alice in Wonderland

So if you feel like answering some questions about Alice in Wonderland, please go for it. A cute Disney post never hurts. There are some fellow Disney lovers that I would like to tag, though. I would love for Closing Winter, Outside The Tower, Unicorn Fairy, Sparkleberry, Courage and Kindness, Jenny in Neverland, Megan Goodier and Living for the Now to answer these questions. I hope you have fun with it!

Goodbye July

Bye bye July and hello August,

there go seven months of 2016 and I’m still where I was when this years started. The only difference is, I’m currently not feeling super bad about it. I’ve decided to not feel ashamed or super annoyed about my current situation anymore because it just is what it is. Instead, I try to focus on things that I love to do and embrace the fact that I have so much time on my hands. Sure, I still think about what to do with my life and how to get there but I don’t obsess about it, since that gets me absolutely nowhere. Some things just take time and eventually, something good will happen.

This month wasn’t super eventful but still not terrible. I have my room back, which is fabulous. For those of you who don’t know, last month, our basement was flooded, which included my room and it was just super annoying. But it’s all good now. I have pretty new carpets, my stuff is where it belongs and I can just enjoy proper me-time, again. I also spent some time with grandma, which always makes her incredibly happy, but I can only go so long without wi-fi. I know it’s terrible how addicted I am, but that’s just how it is. Still, it was nice to be there.

Pokémon Go entered the world and people are going crazy, all over the world. I think it’s hilarious and downloaded the app, as soon as it launched in Germany. Now I have to say, it’s not super fun to play where I live, but I still managed to collect 50 Pokémon by now. Considering the fact that my village not even has one Pokéstop and I have to drive everywhere, I think I’m doing quite well. It does make me move around more though, so I think it’s a good thing.

I went out once and got super drunk but managed to finally figure out how to do it without ending up with a hangover. (Can I put that on my resumé?) I also went on a canoeing tour with a bunch of girls and it was a fantastic day. I was so proud of not ending up wet because my balance is terrible. The weather was good, the landscape was beautiful and we just had a blast. Well, at least my canoe group did. I can only highly recommend this fun activity to everyone.

Other than that, nothing much happened. Except for the Rihanna concert I went to but that was so bad and not worth mentioning. Just know that my third time seeing her live was the last time and I didn’t even buy a tour shirt. There was just not much going on and I was also pretty anti-social. For the past 1,5 weeks, I didn’t do anything but get up, work on my scrapbook while binge-watching Friends, and go back to bed. This is what heaven is to me. But I’ll try to make August a more social month and I hope that all of you will have a fabulous month, as well. Let’s all hope for perfect weather. (Like that is ever gonna happen.)

XO Hailey

PS: This month, I wrote my very first guest post for my friend Gwennan from Twenty Something Meltdown so please give her awesome blog a visit and read my post “10 Life Lessons From Mean Girls.” I was really happy to help her out and it’s a great feeling when somebody wants you to write for them.

Photography: Flowers #2

As some of you may already know, I love exploring the world through my camera and photography has always been important to me. For some reason, flowers are my favorite thing to take pictures of and going through some of my computer files, I found a lot of pretty ones that I took at various places. Some are from my grandma’s garden, some of these were taken in the woods close to my house, some are from San Francisco, Portland, Hawaii and more. Whenever I see a pretty flower, I need to capture it and I hope you like the ones in this post. If not, I have another flower post that you can check out.

Random Ramblings #3

Random Ramblings #3I know, it’s been a while since I last posted my random ramblings, but I feel like it’s about time for another round. I could probably put together ramblings for a whole book but another post just has to do, for now. These are just random questions and thoughts that went through my head and stuck with me.

  • Will we ever have a normal summer again when it comes to weather?
  • Drinking from cute plastic cups makes me so happy and I don’t know why.
  • Most flat-lay pics bore me. Sorry not sorry.
  • Why do some people act like they don’t need friends anymore when they get older?
  • I can’t believe what this world has come to. It’s a very scary place.
  • I’m so obsessed with Pokémon GO, I’m already dreaming about it when I sleep.
  • Rihanna is really not a good live performer.
  • When guns are allowed in the US but surprise eggs are not because they could be dangerous. *insert monkey hiding his eyes emoji here*
  • It sucks to live somewhere with no Pokémon action.
  • I miss the European Championship. I loved watching as many games as possible.
  • It’s crazy how much it affects me when my phone isn’t properly working.
  • Iceland has the greatest soccer fans.
  • How can people seriously call the Turkish governmental system a democracy?
  • I really don’t know why I hate going to bed early, so much.
  • Why can’t there be free wi-fi everywhere? I’m sure people would be much happier.
  • When you don’t know if someone is flirting with you or not…
  • Nothing feels better than sleeping in your own room and bed.
  • Hating on something that others like doesn’t make you any cooler.
  • That annoying moment when your pokéegg hatches an it’s a Pokémon you already have.
  • How can anyone but rich, white, racist men vote for Donald Trump? I mean, does the rest actually listen to what he’s saying?
  • I can’t believe how hard it is to gain followers on Snapchat and Instagram.
  • I hate feeling depressed.
  • My favorite jelly beans are watermelon and strawberry cheesecake.
  • FRIENDS is just one of these shows that never get’s old.
  • Who ever told guys that women love to receive unsolicited dick pics?
  • How can people say that breastfeeding, taking a bath with your kids and giving them a kiss on the lips is wrong? I can’t stand those people. Their sick minds seem to be the actual problem.
  • I don’t know why I can never fully stick to my blogging schedule. I have all the time in the world, after all.
  • How can it be two years since I graduated from university?
  • I can’t believe how good I was at canoeing. I really thought that I would end up wet.
  • Some people only have “great relationships” because other people keep their mouth shut.
